1 January, as everyone knows, is the start of the New Year. People make promises to themselves to improve things such as personal health, relationships, and personality flaws. For instance, this year I resolved to become vegetarian, try being less sarcastic, and walk 4 miles every day. The last two, like many resolutions, have sadly fallen by the wayside.

July, however, is not associated with resolutions, at least not the ones you're expected to keep. But this deterred me not from making another resolution. This one, hopefully, will last longer than the pitiful two weeks the others did. My July resolution was to get my own personality.

Hmm? What's that you say? I already have a personality? Ah, but that is not the complete truth. It is a dreadful pain to be a chameleon. Not the animal, but rather the description. The only well defined part of my personality is my non-conformism. It is, therefore, rather ironic that the rest of aforesaid personality is determined by those I spend the most time around.

Most of my music tastes are dictated by the music my friends listen to. My tastes in literature are also highly influenced by certain people, as well as fashion style, art taste, and even most of my strong opinions are only strong opinions because they're also my friends'. It's quite humiliating, considering that I've always *prided* myself on my individuality.

But I have decided to take a stand. This cannot go on. And so, I call out to *all* my loyal readers out there: Chameleons of the world, unite! We've got nothing to lose but our herd-mentality!
